Colon Hydrotherapy and Home Cleansing

I have previously talked about enemas and colon hydrotherapy – things that should not be done at home or in unsanitary conditions. I have found a very interesting video on YouTube on colon cleansing and I’d like you to watch it (even though the video itself is a bit of advertising, it states some true facts). It’s always great to stay informed.

Also, I used to say that keeping your colon clean on a daily basis should not be a big problem, if you do your best. Fibers and natural juices are what you need and this is another very, very interesting video on YouTube. It’s a must watch, must follow if you want to keep your body healthy.

Enemas

Let’s stick to the colon cleansing process a little bit and try to debate one of the most common urban legends still alive: the enemas (“cleaning” your colon with liquid, usually water). Many people consider and many others claim that the enemas are a good TREATMENT, but they are far from being right. Of course, enemas might be able to cleanse our colons once, but its effects are short and potentially dangerous for our health.

First of all, you should all know that if you’re planning on trying this procedure, you should NEVER attempt to do it without medical supervision – the best place to do it is a hospital – and a good hospital, nevertheless. Because enemas can go wrong – they can lead to ruptures of the bowel or the entire colon, rectal fissures and internal bleeding! Also, they can result in amebiasis, which is very dangerous to one’s health. So, if you ever plan trying it just to convince yourself that enema is NOT a treatment, do it with caution and as responsible adult.

If you have other beliefs or experiences, please feel free to share them here. But unless you hear it from a doctor (as it happened in my case when I was forced to do an enema for a colonoscopy – and the doctor explained all these to me), don’t even try to do it. There are other ways of keeping your colon clean or treating the irritable bowel syndrome. But we’ll talk about a few natural and medical treatments like that in another post.

This is how an enema made for home use looks like. Do not try to use something like that:

Please note

All the advice offered here is based on personal experience (I am fighting against IBS, gastritis, ulcers and acute constipation). I am by no means a doctor and nor should my advice be taken for granted. Even though I am 100% sure what I say is correct, please take my articles only as guidelines and contact a medic for proper diagnosis and treatment for all your colon or abdomen related problems: irritable bowel syndrome, ulcers, gastritis, as well as any symptoms you have. Stay healthy!
