Dr. Felecia L. Dawson will no longer catch babies. After 18 years of private practice she is retiring from obstetrics. She has opened The Center for Medical Weight loss. "It's time to leave birthing babies to the young folk. I'm going to focus on helping my patients lose and keep the weight off", states Dr. Dawson.
She hopes to bring her holistic framework to weight loss, by offering medical detoxification. Weight loss, via dieting or bariatric surgery, simultaneously burns fat while releasing toxins into the bloodstream. Most toxins are deposited in fat cells. The more overweight a person is, the greater the toxic load.

The overall detoxification process is very nutrient dependent. Without the proper vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, and proteins, detoxification cannot occur properly. Molecules, more dangerous than the original toxin, may be produced. Cultures around the world have had various methods of cleansing and detoxifying for centuries. Methods have included some combination of water fasts, saunas, enemas, colonics, hydrotherapy, and nutritional modifications. Over the counter detoxification programs may last one to two weeks. A medical detoxification, supervised by a health care provider, typically lasts four weeks. Beginning a weight loss program after detoxification is safer, and results in fewer side effects.
Dr. Dawson specializes in bariatric medicine and holistic gynecology. She is board certified in obstetrics, gynecology, and holistic medicine.

Please note
All the advice offered here is based on personal experience (I am fighting against IBS, gastritis, ulcers and acute constipation). I am by no means a doctor and nor should my advice be taken for granted. Even though I am 100% sure what I say is correct, please take my articles only as guidelines and contact a medic for proper diagnosis and treatment for all your colon or abdomen related problems: irritable bowel syndrome, ulcers, gastritis, as well as any symptoms you have. Stay healthy!
